Track 4: Redemption

Snakeyes has a family; A little boy and a wife. His minimum-wage job couldn’t support three whole lives. So he brought a mask and a gun to the liquor store one night. Couldn’t get away fast enough now he’s payin’ for his crime. He’ll be here for the next 12 years In these walls rolling dice, said he regrets every damn move he made that night. No he’s not an animal, he’s a dad tryin’ to provide. Tried doin’ it the easy way and he ruined his whole life. Buzzy, Bo, and Bulldog, got here in ‘95. Three brothers from New York all doin’ the same time. They were runnin’ the family business, it was passed on down the line. Got caught movin’ some cocaine at the New Hampshire borderline. They’re still here for eight more years in these walls rollin’ dice. Said they wished they never touched white lightnin’ in their lives. No they’re not some animals, just a different horse they ride. Buzzy said he would stay in school if he could do it all over and right. I had me a good job, workin’ 9 to 5. I had me a woman and I never told a lie. I had a clean record, at least until that night. Now this damn prison’s where I spend all my time. As for me I’ll be here for the rest of my whole life. Servin’ my sentence for shootin’ that man ... and my wife. You might call me an animal, if you did you’re probably right. ‘Cause knowin’ she can’t hurt me again is what helps me sleep at night.
