Track 3: Learned a Lot

Well it feels like yesterday, when I packed my truck to hit the interstate. I was off to college, I could hardly wait to be on my way. Well today’s the day I’m finally done ... it was four short years of havin’ fun. I got a cap, a gown, a piece of paper to prove it, I got a degree, now it’s time to use it. People say they graduate without learnin’ a single thing. But I think I learned a thing or two before that final bell rang. I learned beer tastes best when it’s out of a can. And nothing good happens after 2 am. Most times goin’ hunting is just all about the chase. Real friends always know what to say, if you raise some hell you’ll pay more the next day. Girls don’t like when you get too drunk and act a fool. Yeah if you ask me I learned a lot in school. I met some people I’ll never forget, and I met a few who came and went. I found a girl who was heaven-sent, but we’re just friends. I can’t tell you the first thing I know about physics or chemistry. But when it comes to useful knowledge I got all a man could need. I learned two isn’t always better than one, and gambling can be a lot of fun, but you better know when to fold ‘em ‘cause the house always wins. If you give ‘em an inch they’re gonna take a mile, and real friends know how to make you smile, what’s best for everyone isn’t always the best thing for you. Yeah if you ask me I learned a lot in school. I learned beer tastes best when it’s out of a can, at a college bar with all of your friends. Nothing good happens after 2 am … most times.  It feels too soon to graduate, in the past four years I don’t regret a thing. Those reckless nights are what made me into who I am today. If you say that you gained nothin’ well, you sound really cool. But if you ask me I learned a lot in school.
