Track 11: Rico

How are you? How’s your dad? It just isn’t right you both had to say by way too soon; makes me mad. But I guess I can’t blame God for wanting to hang out with you; guess I’m sad. I didn’t think at our first high school reunion we’d be, wearing black. But it comforts me knowing that you’re in good company; that’s a fact. Don’t worry ‘bout payin’ tonight’s all gonna be, on my tab. I wish you could be here – it don’t feel the same ‘cause The Good Life is just the life without you here. But I guess sometimes life just isn’t fair. So when the waitress comes around I’ll tell her I’ll take two. One is for me and then I’ll pour one out for you. The tall beer don’t taste the same. Without you to show everyone how fast you can drink, the whole thing. I feel like Gary Allan ‘cause the jukebox will only play, songs about rain. But I know if I miss you too much you will always be, in my dreams. It helps me out when I’m going through pain ‘cause The Good Life is just the life without you here. But I guess sometimes life just isn’t fair. So when the waitress comes around I’ll tell her I’ll take two, one is for me and then I’ll pour one out for you. Yeah I know you’re in a better place. But I’ll always miss that evil smirk on your face, and the memories that we made, oh those were the days. Yeah The Good Life is just the life without you here. This one’s for Rico let’s all cheers. When the waitress comes around everyone order two, I miss you man and I’ll never forget about you.
