Track 8: Fake Smile

It gets old. ‘Tryna make people happy can really take a toll. On my mind, sometimes, it gets old. And it drains me. I feel like my fuel tank is runnin’ on empty. All the time, but it’s fine, I’ll let it be. I tell everyone I’m okay, try to pretend I’m not going insane. I love everyone, do they feel the same? I wear this fake smile on my face. I’ve been drinkin’ … this Tennessee whiskey helps me numb the pain. But it’s all right; if you ask me I’ve got it made. How are you, though? My only wish is that everything’s going great. Yeah it’s true, happiness is the sweetest trait. Do you tell everyone you’re okay even though you feel like you’re going insane? Do you love everyone? Do they feel the same? Do you wear a fake smile on your face? I tell everyone I’m okay, try to pretend I’m not goin’ insane. I love everyone, do they feel the same? Either way … I’ll wear this fake smile for the rest of my days.
